Crypsis : Interactive Wireless Lighting
The Crypsis lighting system offers a new freedom in lighting precision and control. Ultra-bright LED light units can be moved effortlessly by hand and repositioned anywhere within a transparent panel.
Inbuilt Gyroscopic Dimming, Adjusted by Simple Rotation
In nature Crypsis is the “ability to avoid observation and to blend into one’s environment”. The aptly named Crypsis Lighting technology is a fully interactive, seamless, low voltage lighting system that provides high intensity, fully adjustable light discreetly within a transparent panel.
Developed by Cohda for Crypsis Lighting UK, the system has been described by the press as a “new evolution in LED lighting.” The system is now used in various museum showcase instillations, with the most high profile application being the Antwerp World Diamond Centre.
Limitless Movement and Precision
An external magnetic control puck allows Crypsis lighting to be repositioned, dimmed, clustered together in multiples and operated in either a horizontal or vertical plane.
The low voltage system uses no batteries or direct wiring which allows freedom of display potential and opens up new possibilities in commercial and domestic lighting.
The adjustability of Crypsis makes it ideal for for museum showcase, retail shelving and point of sale displays.
Ease of Assembly
Final light units were developed for ease of assembly, without the need for specialist skills, tools or adhesives. Units are engineered around a central PCB, with components being clipped together in under two minutes.
The Crypsis System was developed by the in-house Cohda design team in collaboration with Crypsis Lighting LTD UK and the technology is protected under several world-registered patents. All Crypsis manufacture, intellectual property, distribution and licensing is controlled by Crypsis Lighting Ltd UK.
